| Christian Education Mission Statement: To provide educational opportunities for equipping the Saints for service to God and the people of God. Chairman: Trudy Hutton Congregational Care Mission Statement: To provide a sense of belonging and group identity by keeping our members informed, and expressing care for each other in times of joy and sorrow Information: This committee is composed of the chair, leaders, and co-leaders from each of our nine clusters. The purpose of each cluster is knowing, informing, and caring. Their responsibility is the implementation of those purposes. Each cluster leader is responsible for sharing these with all members. Chairwoman: Rose Suenram Finance & Stewardship Mission Statement: To provide, track, and report on a financial plan and budget that: Sustaining MPC's programs that reach out to the lives of others and to bring them to know Christ; Provides and maintains a learning community that equips its members to proclaim the Word; Provides a home for this family of believers for nurture which recognizes that its health and growth are an important aspect of long-term service. Chairman:Al Seddon Membership Mission Statement: To provide opportunities for all to come to know Jesus Christ. Since this begins with our local congregation, this committee is charged with enhancing church attendance and membership .Toward this end, committee members work to extend the offer of worship and Christian fellowship within a welcoming, friendly, faith-affirming atmosphere relevant to life today. Chair:Byron Scarbrough Mission Mission Statement: To reach out to our own members, the local community and any others who need God's love. Information: Currently the Mission Committee has two on-going projects with the Fredericksburg Food Pantry and the Fredericksburg Needs Council. Food is donated on the first Sunday of the month and we help with home repairs as the Needs Council passes them along to us. Our current emphasis is on the One Great Hour of Sharing which comes up during the Lenten season. We also collect the travel size shampoos,soaps, mouthwash, toothbrushes, etc., that various people donate so that theycan be given to the Battered Women's Shelter. We continue to have coffee and chocolate sales from the Equal Exchange Program of the Presbyterian Coffee Project. Chairman: Paula Swenson Personnel Mission Statement: To assist the Session in fulfilling its responsibilities to and for all the people employed by the church. To provide guidelines for counsel and support to the pastor and staff. Chair: Joanne Davis Worship Mission Statement: To plan and oversee the design of corporate worship, allowing ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit providing a time of sanctuary and utilizing liturgy which is meaningful and theologically sound.
